  26. It really isn't the Linda case that I was interested in though.  On
  27. another net we've been discussing/brainstorming/wish-listing what it
  28. would take to bring Abduction out of the closet (so to speak).  During
  29. that process we more or less settled on two important items.  The first
  30. was that it is breaking out of the closet sort of on its own, in more
  31. ways than one, partly due to media popularity and certainly in part due
  32. to the work of you and others (Hopkins, etc.) coupled with the data
  33. implied by the Roper poll.
  34.  
  35. With that first item tending to dominate the forefront of the thinking
  36. we then realized that there might very well be well-intentioned and
  37. well-meaning folks out there somewhere who might try to use hard science
  38. in their endeavors...  And they might try to do that more or less on
  39. their own.

  41. So, we have pretty much decided on developing a reference/source
  42. document, a standalone document, that could be used by virtually any
  43. literate professional wishing to push the envelope regarding the
  44. hard-data side of the issue.

  46. Our document will look something (only slightly) like this:

  58. Please note I _am not_ requesting a journalistic response from you
  59. regarding general content or organization of the formal document nor am
  60. I requesting overview comments.  (However, please feel free to provide
  61. them if you think they will contribute to the objectives as stated.)

  63. Let me couch my request as follows:  On the one hand we have folks,
  64. abductees or otherwise (yourself included) who are within a hair certain
  65. that alien beings from some other place are arriving here in spaceships
  66. and they are abducting humans for the purpose of some sort of genetic
  67. experimentation.  (And this may very well be exactly what is
  68. happenning.)  On the other hand we have that Toastmaster of Titilation,
  69. the Philster Himself, the Klassmiester, who wouldn't acknowledge an
  70. implant if he passed one.  Somewhere inbetween, and much closer to the
  71. other hand, are about 99% of the scientific community and about 90% of
  72. the general population.  How do we change that?
  73.  
  74. We think we change that situation by wiring an Abductee, and their
  75. living quarters, with just about every piece of gear we can get.  We are
  76. assuming that we have unlimited funding, the so-called Grand Design, and
  77. then we plan to incrementally reduce the scope of the project to the
  78. point just prior to which the data acquired is worthless.  We plan to
  79. document each version of the Design, (including specific equipment
  80. requirements, sources of acquisition by geographic location,
  81. installation instructions, etc.), so that (as anticipated) someone out
  82. there can pick this source document off the shelf and actually begin the
  83. process of discrete scientific monitoring with some hope of credibility.

  85. Here are my specific requests of you:
  86.  
  87.         1 - We have decided and affirmed that the Project Team should be
  88.         headed by a professional psychiatrist who will directly and
  89.         exclusively interface with the Abductee.  Do you agree with this
  90.         decision Yes/No, and why?
  91.  
  92.         2 - We have decided and affirmed that a pre-teen Abductee,
  93.         (strictly within the scope of #1 above), is the best possible
  94.         choice as the Subject of the Project.  Do you agree with this
  95.         decision Yes/No, and why?
  96.  
  97.         3 - What is _the_ most important bit of hard data that you would
  98.         like to have?  (Videotape, photograph, radar, anomolous magnetic
  99.         field in bedroom, anomolous microwave field in bedroon,
  100.         physically attached transponder on Abductee registering high
  101.         altitude...???)

  103. I thank you in advance for wading through this.  We might be completely
  104. off target (I don't think we are) but I think there could very well be a
  105. bunch of folks (in the making) who are competent enough to want to do
  106. something but who just need a reference document to point the way...
